Our story

Hamlin Road Farm is part of Pathways, a community-based mental health, addiction and wellbeing services.

Back in 2002, when Pathways acquired the 10 acres of land and the funding to start Hamlin Road Farm, we approached the community to help us shape the farm’s direction.

We brought together Pathways staff, people who used our services, whānau, business people and community members to share their ideas on how we should use the land.

For almost 20 years’, Hamlin Road Organic Farm has been providing an innovative service to the South Auckland community. The farm supports people with mental health challenges to gain valuable paid work experience, learn skills, gain qualifications and build confidence while they prepare for permanent employment elsewhere.

Hamlin Road Organic Farm is a fully functioning commercial enterprise with organic certification through AsureQuality. It grows an array of quality organic produce, herbs, sprouts and seedlings. The farm has seven large shade houses, extensive outside garden beds, citrus orchard and a propagation house,

The farm also runs a contract lawn mowing service.

Hamlin Road Organic Farm is a living example of Pathways’ dream to transform mental health and addictions through fostering strong, compassionate, self-supporting communities.
